Everyone, regardless of ones age, is being benefited by the Internet. There are definitely some advantages and disadvantages of the Internet for research purposes. Students usually have access to a huge on-line library through wireless system whether they are working from home, in the office, or from a hotel room. COST EFFEVTIVE:- The Internet is more cost effective source of research as opposed to the other available sources. The on line library has facilitated the students to reduce their traveling expenses as well. In addition, recent changes in the use of the Internet played a vital role to provide us with much smaller, cheaper and lighter computers like note books Apple iPhone that enables us to use them without limits as access is available anytime, anywhere, around the globe. DISADVANTAGES:- UNPRODUCTIVE MATERIAL:- A good practice and some skills are required to use the Internet for research; for thousands of web pages appear to be similar to ones required pages but in reality most of them are unproductive for research purposes. CREDIBILITY OF THE MATERIAL:- Mostly the sources used for research are not reliable for instance Wikipedia is not authoritative as it does not bear the bibliography for a specific article because the articles some time are written and edited by as many as 300,000 contributors. Moreover, these articles are not updated regularly, therefore, the material got from such a sources might be old one. FINANCIAL BURDEN:- The use of the Internet can add in ones financial obligations to some extent as one is needed an expensive computer or a lap top for that task. On the other hand, people have to pay for the internet bills as well as for some web sites to read stuff on line. Theà conquistadorsà followed tales of El Dorado toà Cundinamarcaà but refused to believe that they had found the mythical city, so they kept looking. The Spanish didnt know it, but the Muisca civilization was the last major native culture with any wealth. The El Dorado they searched for after 1537 did not exist. Still, they searched and searched: dozens of expeditions containing thousands of men scoured South America until aboutà 1800 whenà Alexander Von Humboldtà visited South America and concluded that El Dorado had been a myth all along. Nowadays, you can find El Dorado on a map, although its not the one the Spanish were looking for. There are towns named El Dorado in several countries, including Venezuela,à Mexico, and Canada. In the USA there are no fewer than thirteen towns named El Dorado (or Eldorado).à Finding El Doradoà is easier than everâ⬠¦just dont expect streets paved with gold. The El Dorado legend has proven resilient. The notion of a lost city of gold and the desperate men who search for it is just too romantic for writers and artists to resist. Countless songs, storiesà books, and poems (including one byà Edgar Allen Poe) have been written about the subject. There is even a superhero called El Dorado.à Moviemakers, in particular, have been fascinated by the legend: as recently as 2010 a movie was made about a modern-day scholar who finds clues to the lost city of El Dorado: action and shootouts ensue.
